In Collaboration With: The Public Notice
This was a metro ad campaign done for Public Notice's educational campaign Bankrupting America. It was a takeover of the Capitol South and Union Station metros for the entire month of January – the two busiest stops for the 2013 inauguration traffic.
This campaign took advantage of the amount of physical space available to tell a well-rounded story. Quotes from history that have since been proven falsehoods were positioned next to quotes from our leaders about solving our fiscal troubles – clearly illustrating that those words have also not amounted to much. Pillars in the space were turned into graphs that show our history of debt, overspending, and our inability to consistently pass a budget. Also scattered throughout the stops are ads featuring the hashtag #talkischeap, encouraging viewers to tweet about what crazy promises they’ll follow through on if Washington actually balances the budget this year.

History shows that as the economy fluctuates, the hemline length on women’s skirts reflects the change. And the connection between fashion and the economy doesn’t stop there. From neckties to lipstick, the state of the economy is echoed in our state of dress.
